Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and medical supplies. This position is essential for maintaining a sterile environment in healthcare facilities, directly impacting patient safety and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Conduct routine maintenance and quality control on sterilization equipment.
- Inspect and verify the operational status of tools and devices before they are used in patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and adhere to safety standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in sterile processing is preferred.
- Experience in a sterile processing or healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and capacity to work well in a team environment.
