Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in operating rooms, working alongside a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality surgical care. This position is based in New Haven, Connecticut, where the emphasis is on integrity, respect, and patient-centered care in every aspect of the job. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining asepsis and utilizing sterile techniques to support surgical procedures effectively.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical personnel during surgical operations.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure.
- Handle instruments and other materials during surgery, following proper aseptic techniques.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent formal training is preferred.
- Prior experience as a surgical technician is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of asepsis and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
