Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down RN is a crucial member of the healthcare team, tasked with delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from vascular surgery or procedures. This role involves closely monitoring patients’ progress and providing comprehensive support to ensure optimal recovery and medical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and routinely monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and manage pain relief as per physician orders.
- Implement and adhere to care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care practices and lifestyle adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Respond to patient emergencies and take appropriate action to stabilize condition.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, or an equivalent nursing degree.
- Previous nursing experience in a surgical or telemetry setting is advantageous.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Commitment to ongoing education and adherence to nursing regulations and standards.
