Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down RN plays a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients transitioning from the intensive care unit to a step-down unit. This position requires a skilled registered nurse with expertise in vascular health, capable of monitoring and managing patients with various vascular conditions.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition, promptly identifying any changes that require intervention.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding vascular health, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Document all patient interactions and care assessments in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing staff members as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Proven experience in a vascular care or step-down nursing role preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are desirable.
