Job Summary
The Vascular Step Down RN is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from vascular surgeries or experiencing vascular-related issues. The role requires monitoring patient conditions, conducting assessments, and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients’ medical conditions post-vascular procedures.
- Administer medications and provide treatments as prescribed.
- Document patient care, progress, and any notable changes in health status.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and health education.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patient care.
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- Experience in a step-down unit or similar critical care environment.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
