Job Summary
This position is designed to oversee compliance and internal control initiatives across various departments, including business operations, accounting, finance, and technology. The incumbent will focus on SOX risk assessments, documentation of controls, their execution, evaluation, and the necessary remediation steps. The role also includes collaboration with control owners and auditors, offering guidance on control implications, and enhancing processes and controls associated with major system implementations.
Responsibilities
- Lead compliance activities across multiple departments.
- Conduct SOX risk assessments to identify and address risks.
- Document internal controls and ensure proper implementation.
- Test and remediate controls as necessary.
- Collaborate with auditors and control owners to provide insights on control implications.
- Drive improvements in processes and controls related to significant system projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of six years’ experience in accounting, auditing, business process improvement, or a similar field.
- Extensive knowledge of internal controls and accounting, particularly in GAAP.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with SOX, COSO, or COBIT frameworks.
- Relevant certifications and a master’s degree are advantageous.
