Equipment Logistics Technician, Mayfield Heights, Ohio $16.50-17.00/hr (10-hour shifts Wed-Sat)

The Equipment Logistics Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the prompt cleaning, distribution, and upkeep of medical devices and equipment throughout the facility. This position enhances patient care by guaranteeing the preparedness and availability of essential equipment across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out targeted rounds in patient care areas to identify, recover, and redistribute medical assets.
  • Clean, disinfect, and assess medical equipment such as infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, DVT pumps, specialized beds, carts, and other durable medical devices.
  • Transport and collect medical equipment as needed to support care units.
  • Assess and document the condition of equipment, alerting appropriate personnel to any issues or defects.
  • Maintain precise records of all operations using an electronic database or tracking system.
  • Order, organize, and distribute medical supplies to various units and departments.
  • Work in partnership with clinical staff to ensure equipment availability meets patient care needs.
  • Comply with infection control and safety protocols while handling, cleaning, or transporting medical equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, logistics, or medical equipment management setting is preferred.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and task management.
  • Ability to perform duties in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Capability to remain active and navigate throughout the health system.
  • Adept at operating computers, cleaning devices, and other related tools.
  • Must be able to lift, transport, or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and carts/beds that may exceed 100 lbs.
  • Competent in inspecting, cleaning, installing, repairing, and maintaining various equipment types.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors for accurate evaluation of equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey accurate and timely information.
