Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing and analyzing the company’s cost data to support decision-making and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in cost accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes to ensure accurate reporting.
- Analyze production costs and prepare detailed reports for management evaluation.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting by providing cost insights and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits of costs and inventory levels to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Provide financial information for strategic planning and operational reviews.
- Support the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficient in financial modeling and variance analysis.
