Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room team, contributing to the delivery of precise and secure care to patients throughout surgical procedures. The position requires a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology as well as medical terminology. The Surgical Technologist ensures that all aspects of sterile technique are upheld during surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room before surgical procedures.
- Support the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and materials during operations.
- Maintain proper sterilization and hygiene standards in the operating environment.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to facilitate smooth and safe surgical processes.
- Participate in the cleanup and organization of the operating room after surgeries.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
