Job Summary
The Sample Management Technician plays a crucial role in the laboratory by overseeing the intake, detailed documentation, and systematic organization of environmental samples. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of samples as it involves verifying that they meet condition standards, accurately inputting data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and managing both storage and distribution processes efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Handle the intake of environmental samples and ensure proper documentation.
- Organize samples within the laboratory to maintain order and accessibility.
- Verify the integrity and condition of samples to uphold quality standards.
- Enter and manage data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Oversee the storage and distribution of samples to ensure proper management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preference for candidates holding an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
- Previous experience in data entry, administrative duties, or laboratory support in a regulated setting is necessary.
