Job Summary
The Scrub Assistant is responsible for executing surgical scrub procedures within the Delivery Operating Room (OR) and aiding in vaginal delivery processes while ensuring the maintenance of a sterile environment. This position also encompasses clerical responsibilities, including transcribing orders from physicians, overseeing supply inventories, and facilitating patient communications.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical scrub procedures in the Delivery OR.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries while maintaining a sterile field.
- Transcribe physician orders accurately.
- Manage and oversee inventory levels of medical supplies.
- Coordinate communication with patients effectively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary.
- Previous experience in scrub or clerical roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology will be advantageous.
