Job Summary
The OR RN Circulator is tasked with overseeing the surgical environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedures. This role requires a skilled nurse to manage surgical operations effectively while collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the surgical room, ensuring all equipment is prepared and functioning correctly.
- Verify patient information and consent before surgical procedures.
- Monitor and assess the patient’s status preoperatively and during surgery.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to facilitate smooth operations.
- Document patient care and surgical events accurately in medical records.
- Maintain a sterile environment and uphold all safety protocols.
- Provide support to the surgical staff and assist as needed during procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the applicable state.
- Specialized training or experience in perioperative nursing is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic surgical setting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
