The Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room (OR) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients. As part of the surgical services team, this position demands a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of practice in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate actively as a member of the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care during procedures.
- Verify and ensure the sterility of instruments and supplies prior to surgical procedures.
- Monitor and confirm sterility tapes, along with the integrity of surgical materials.
- Assist in preparing the operating room and arranging instruments needed for surgeries.
- Support surgeons and other medical personnel during surgical operations to enhance the quality and efficiency of care.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
- Certification as a surgical technologist is essential, with necessary continuing education credits fulfilled.
- Familiarity with operating room protocols and sterile techniques is important.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the surgical team and manage time efficiently.
