Job description

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department plays a crucial role in providing immediate and effective care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions or injuries. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to make rapid assessments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and will be responsible for triaging, treating, and monitoring patients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and obtain relevant medical histories.
  • Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.
  • Document patient care and ensure accurate medical records are maintained.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new nursing staff in emergency care practices.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • Previous experience in emergency nursing or a critical care setting is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
