Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department plays a crucial role in providing immediate and effective care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions or injuries. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to make rapid assessments in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and will be responsible for triaging, treating, and monitoring patients effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and obtain relevant medical histories.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.
- Document patient care and ensure accurate medical records are maintained.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Assist in training and mentoring new nursing staff in emergency care practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Previous experience in emergency nursing or a critical care setting is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
