Job Summary
The Phlebotomist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by efficiently collecting blood samples and managing laboratory procedures. This position supports patient care through the accurate and timely acquisition of samples, which is essential for diagnostic testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to obtain blood samples from patients.
- Ensure that all samples are collected in compliance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Label specimens accurately and maintain proper documentation during sample collection.
- Provide excellent patient care, including comfort and assistance during the sample collection process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and stocked.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in phlebotomy preferred.
- Proven experience in drawing blood or relevant clinical experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
