Job Summary
The position of Step Down/Oncology encompasses the specialized care for patients in the fields of ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), Colorectal, and Urology. This role is pivotal in providing support and monitoring for patients transitioning from intensive treatments to less acute care settings. The selected candidate will be part of a dedicated team, ensuring that patients receive optimal recovery processes and treatment methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing necessary interventions based on clinical judgment.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Administer medications and therapies as outlined by the physician’s orders and protocols.
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and post treatment instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of care.
- Document patient progress and changes in condition accurately in medical records.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of nursing staff as needed.
Qualifications
- A valid nursing license with a specialty in oncology preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to respond to changes in patient conditions.
