Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the operating room is responsible for providing critical support before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role entails ensuring that surgical instruments are sterile and the environment is safe for both patients and the surgical team. The Technologist plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of surgical operations, coordinating with various healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments to ensure they meet sterilization standards.
- Assist in safety processes throughout the surgical procedures.
- Work closely with patient care providers to assess patient needs and ensure a high standard of care.
- Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the operating room before and after surgeries.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Certification as a Surgical Tech II or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Strong understanding of sterilization processes and patient safety protocols.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse healthcare team.
