Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in providing support during surgical procedures by assisting the surgical team. This position ensures that all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and in proper working order. The surgical technician collaborates with medical professionals to maintain a sterile environment and enhance patient safety during operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and managing surgical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with sterilization protocols and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Monitor patients’ needs and provide support for anesthesia as required.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and work areas post-surgery.
- Contribute to the overall organizational workflow in the operating room.
Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, exhibiting great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with surgical teams and patients.
