Job Summary
The Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing specialized nursing care to patients who require monitoring and treatment following critical care. This position is essential for ensuring that the patients receive appropriate care in a step-down unit, supporting their recovery as they transition from intensive care to a more stable environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide individualized patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and recovery processes.
- Assess patient conditions and intervene appropriately in case of changes in their health status.
- Document patient progress and ensure compliance with healthcare protocols.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Prior experience in a step-down, critical care, or similar nursing environment is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
- Possession of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
