Job Summary
The Cat Scan Technician, also referred to as a CT Technologist, plays a vital role in the healthcare team by performing computed tomography imaging procedures. This position requires a high level of skill and professionalism to ensure accurate diagnostic images that assist physicians in evaluating and treating patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Operate computed tomography equipment to produce high-quality images while adhering to safety protocols.
- Instruct patients on the CT imaging process to alleviate any concerns.
- Monitor patients during scans for any adverse reactions to contrast materials or sedation.
- Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure diagnostic objectives are met.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures performed.
- Follow established protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Current certification as a CT Technologist from an accredited organization.
- Proven experience in performing CT scans and operating imaging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
