Job Summary
The Adult Emergency Department (ED) and trauma nurse plays a crucial role in providing immediate and expert nursing care to adults experiencing urgent medical conditions or traumatic injuries. This professional is responsible for assessing patients, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with the medical team to ensure optimal outcomes in high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of adult patients in the emergency setting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patient progress and respond effectively to changes in condition.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and relevant nursing degree.
- Experience in adult emergency, critical care, or trauma nursing preferred.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
