Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified candidate with experience in Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) to join our esteemed team. This position may involve travel opportunities for those with a solid background in direct admissions from the operating room (OR) and specialized care in open-heart procedures. Ideal applicants should be knowledgeable in handling post-operative recovery, as well as the management of complex cases including Swan-Ganz catheter placements and chest tube insertions.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients in the CTICU, especially focusing on those requiring post-operative monitoring and treatment.
- Manage admissions from the operating room, ensuring seamless patient transitions and effective care delivery.
- Oversee the administration of critical therapeutic interventions, including Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring.
- Address the care needs of patients with chest tubes, ensuring proper placement and function.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative recovery and care processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit or comparable critical care environment.
- Strong understanding of post-operative care protocols for cardiac patients.
- Demonstrated ability to perform critical procedures such as managing Swans and chest tubes effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Willingness to travel for assignments if needed, with a flexible approach to working in diverse clinical settings.
