Job Summary
The Infusion Nurse is responsible for administering intravenous therapy and medications to patients in a clinical setting. This role is essential for ensuring that patients receive the necessary treatments safely and effectively, while also monitoring their reactions and outcomes during the infusion process.
Responsibilities
- Administer IV medications and fluids according to healthcare protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and implement appropriate actions as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about the infusion process and home care requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of patients’ conditions and treatment responses.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license in the applicable state.
- Experience in infusion therapy or relevant nursing fields preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- ACLS or PALS certification may be required based on the setting.
