Overview of the Inventory Control Associate Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inventory Control Associate with a prominent Fortune 500 manufacturing client located in Joliet, IL. This position involves collaboration with the Finance Manager and will entail time spent both in the office and the warehouse, focusing on inventory management tasks.
Key Responsibilities of the Inventory Control Associate:
- Execute administrative and support functions to guarantee that inventory items are secure, accurately labeled, and easily accessible for authorized personnel.
- Assist with physical inventory counts under supervision, ensuring that these counts align with existing inventory records.
- Investigate any discrepancies related to inventory overages or shortages, including cycle count issues, and track down misplaced items.
- Verify the accuracy of quantities for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Help process Shipped in Error (SIE) claims, investigations, and manage Dealer Returns.
- Provide support and backup for various other Inventory Control functions as necessary.
- Assist in addressing Pick Exceptions and Inventory Shortages throughout the workday.
Qualifications Required:
- An Associate’s degree along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in materials management, or alternatively, at least 2 years’ experience in the same field.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities.
- Data entry skills.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
- Capability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at elevated heights.
- Willingness to be trained to operate a Cherry Picker.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Manhattan Warehouse Management Software (MWS) or TOLAS System is advantageous.
