Job Summary
The Lead Chemistry Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) plays a pivotal role in managing and supervising laboratory operations, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely test results. This position is critical in maintaining high-quality laboratory standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily laboratory activities, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Supervise laboratory staff, providing training and mentorship.
- Perform complex analytical procedures and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Monitor quality control processes and troubleshoot any discrepancies in results.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of testing methodologies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Current certification as an MLT or MLS from a nationally recognized accrediting body.
- Proven experience in a clinical laboratory environment, with leadership capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
