Fully Remote (Operating in EST)
12-Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Compensation: $75/HR W2
Overview of the Lead IT QA Analyst Role
In the position of Lead IT QA Analyst, you will spearhead quality assurance initiatives for both Agency Quoting and Vendor Quoting platforms, guaranteeing that our solutions are of superior quality, dependable, and economically feasible. Your mission will be to enhance quality throughout the entire software development process by crafting testing strategies, recognizing potential risks, conducting thorough testing, and overseeing defect management. You will work closely with business analysts, developers, product teams, architects, and various business stakeholders to ensure that all requirements and solutions are comprehensively verified. The successful candidate will possess robust QA leadership skills, a strong background in risk-based testing, and experience managing complex business systems and quoting processes.
Daily Responsibilities of the Lead IT QA Analyst
- Develop and implement test strategies for intricate projects, encompassing functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, exploratory, and risk-driven testing.
- Create and carry out detailed test scenarios and cases while assessing business rules, rating computations, quoting processes, integrations, and system interdependencies.
- Oversee all aspects of the defect lifecycle, including detection, documentation, prioritization, triaging, validation of resolutions, impact analysis of regressions, and root cause investigations.
- Work collaboratively with BSAs, developers, product teams, and business stakeholders throughout sprint planning, backlog refinement, user acceptance testing (UAT), release planning, and activities related to production readiness.
Required Qualifications for the Lead IT QA Analyst
- Proven track record in formulating test strategies, plans, and risk-based testing methodologies across various testing types such as functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end assessments.
- Practical experience in designing test cases, conducting manual and exploratory testing, managing defects, supporting UAT efforts, and validating results post-production.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, including the evaluation of quality metrics, assessment of risks, root cause analysis, and identification of areas for ongoing quality enhancement.
- Skilled in collaborating effectively with cross-functional technology and business teams; experience with XML and utilizing AI tools like Copilot, Codex, or Claude would be advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications for the Lead IT QA Analyst
- Familiarity with insurance quoting and rating systems, especially in the personal lines domain, including Agency Quoting, Vendor Quoting, and overall quoting processes.
- Understanding of insurance products, the interdependencies of policies and products, state-specific quoting factors, vendor workflows, and industry standards such as ACORD.
- Experience with accessibility testing standards and tools, including WCAG, Axe, and Evinced is desirable.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps (AzDO) and ability to harness AI tools to enhance testing, analysis, documentation, and QA processes.
Educational and Experience Criteria for the Lead IT QA Analyst
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline, accompanied by at least 6 years of experience in analyzing, testing, and implementing changes to business systems or aiding user acceptance testing.
- Alternatively, completion of a technical training program in conjunction with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in business system analysis, testing, and user acceptance testing support.
- Or, at least 8 years of related experience in analyzing, testing, and implementing changes to business systems or providing support in user acceptance testing.
