Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician role in the 3 South ICU EMU at Mullica Hill Tower involves providing essential support to nursing staff and assisting in the delivery of patient care. This position is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care in a busy ICU environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing personnel in monitoring patient vital signs and reporting any changes.
- Provide hands-on care to patients, including bathing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
- Support in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Perform basic medical tasks as delegated by the nursing staff.
- Document patient information and care provided accurately in the healthcare system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a nursing assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in ICU or similar environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained shortly after hiring.
