Job Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing and enhancing programs for medical student scholarships and summer research activities, along with the development of future initiatives such as a postbaccalaureate research program and a post-residency scholarly fellowship. The position involves collaboration with various partners within academic, clinical, research, and graduate medical education to foster mentorship and contribute to the building of a physician workforce aligned with Sutter Health’s academic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and expand scholarship and summer research programs for medical students.
- Create and develop future programs such as a postbaccalaureate research initiative and a post-residency fellowship.
- Work collaboratively with academic, clinical, research, and graduate medical education partners.
- Support mentorship and the development of the physician workforce while aligning with Sutter Health’s mission.
Qualifications
- Must hold an MD, DO, PhD, or another relevant terminal degree.
- A minimum of five years of experience in medical education, research, scholarship, clinical leadership, or a closely related area.
- Experience in research and mentorship involving students or trainees.
- Understanding of research ethics and compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
