Job Summary
The role involves the recruitment, training, supervision, and support of volunteers who deliver administrative, direct care, vigil, and bereavement services, while also coordinating placements that align with the needs of patients and their families. Maintaining regulatory compliance and accurate documentation is essential, alongside fostering relationships with staff and community partners, engaging in quality improvement initiatives, and advocating for the volunteer program.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers engaged in various care and support services.
- Coordinate volunteer placements according to patient and family requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain precise administrative records.
- Collaborate with staff and community organizations to enhance service delivery.
- Engage in quality improvement efforts to enhance the volunteer program.
- Represent the volunteer program at various events and meetings.
Qualifications
- CPR certification is mandatory.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance are required.
- Familiarity with hospice philosophy is essential.
- Strong organizational, communication, and public speaking abilities are necessary.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or a minimum of four years of relevant experience may substitute.
- Experience in healthcare, hospice, or volunteer administration is preferred.
