Job Summary
This role is crucial for directing the infection prevention and control initiatives within the facility. The individual will oversee various components including infection surveillance, the stewardship of antibiotics, risk assessments, the evaluation of policies, meticulous reporting, effective documentation, and the education of staff, residents, and their families on best practices in infection control.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the infection prevention and control program.
- Conduct surveillance for infections within the facility.
- Manage antibiotic stewardship initiatives.
- Perform risk assessments and review policies related to infection control.
- Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of infection-related data.
- Provide education and training sessions for staff, residents, and families.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to uphold the quality of care and adhere to regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Professional nursing qualification such as a nursing certificate, diploma, or degree.
- Specialized education, training, or certification in infection prevention and control.
- Completion of accredited continuing education in infection prevention and control.
- Ability to meet state licensure or certification prerequisites.
- No current disciplinary actions against the professional nursing license.
