Job Summary
The role involves the operation and upkeep of shavers and heavy machinery to facilitate the movement, cutting, and processing of logs, ensuring that production timelines are met while maintaining the quality of the products. It also includes the responsibility of overseeing a neat and safe log yard and collaborating with truck drivers, all while adhering to safety protocols and training standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain shavers and heavy equipment for log processing.
- Ensure production schedules are followed and product quality is monitored.
- Maintain a clean and secure log yard environment.
- Coordinate effectively with truck drivers.
- Comply with safety procedures and participate in training sessions.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is essential.
- Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, or stooping.
- Previous experience with mobile equipment or forklifts is necessary.
- At least one year of experience operating industrial machinery is preferred.
