Job Summary
The position of Registered Nurse (RN) – OR General Surgery at St Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, focuses on delivering exceptional nursing care in the operating room. The RN will collaborate effectively with patients, colleagues, and physicians to ensure seamless continuity of care while maintaining the highest standards in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care within the operating room setting.
- Work collaboratively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any concerns to the surgical team.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the surgical suite.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license with credentials in Connecticut.
- A minimum of three years of experience in operating room nursing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage stress and provide compassionate care to patients.
