Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in supporting surgical teams during procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available. This position emphasizes the importance of teamwork and effective communication to enhance patient safety and the quality of surgical care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures by scrubbing in and providing necessary support to physicians.
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques throughout all surgical activities.
- Manage and update physician preference cards for surgical procedures.
- Handle and process surgical specimens appropriately.
- Collaborate with the RN circulator to uphold patient safety and deliver high-quality care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is necessary.
- Must possess a valid BLS certification.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required upon hire.
