Job Summary
The Physician will oversee the medical aspects of hospice care, ensuring quality patient support and compliance with established standards. This role encompasses the assessment of new admissions, management of patient rounds, and facilitation of team discussions to enhance care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient admissions for hospice care.
- Supervise rounds in the inpatient setting.
- Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
- Prescribe necessary pharmacotherapeutics for patients.
- Conduct home visits to assess and manage patient needs.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state laws regulating hospice care.
Qualifications
- Must hold a degree from an accredited medical school or school of osteopathy.
- Possess an active and unrestricted medical license in Florida.
- Have a valid DEA license.
- Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or Hospice Medical Director Certification is highly advantageous.
