Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance team and implementing the maintenance Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy across a large plant area. This position is tasked with ensuring that plant sites and equipment are kept in a safe, efficient, and reliable condition. The Maintenance Supervisor establishes and monitors area objectives, metrics, and department management systems (DMS). Additionally, this role provides leadership and opportunities for the development of maintenance staff, collaborates with Operations leadership to maintain safe and consistent manufacturing operations, and contributes to the overarching equipment strategies and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance activities with an emphasis on safety, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols while actively managing hazards.
- Foster the growth of the maintenance workforce by promoting self-learning and ensuring proper training aligns with job responsibilities.
- Enhance organizational excellence within maintenance by keeping workplaces orderly and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, morale, and customer service.
- Formulate and implement maintenance strategies that align with key performance indicators (KPIs), TPM objectives, and overall plant initiatives, including budget management and compliance.
- Manage area-specific budgets, encompassing scope development, cost estimating, purchase order approvals, and expense tracking.
- Lead the execution of Reliability Work Process (RWP), equipment reliability plans, and preventive maintenance initiatives; review maintenance data to enhance reliability programs and oversee critical spare parts management.
- Guide maintenance teams to execute tasks safely and efficiently, troubleshoot equipment problems, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for effective TPM implementation.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industrial experience with mechanical and electrical systems and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in developing and leading reliability-focused maintenance procedures.
- Ability to achieve results through team engagement and collaboration.
- Experience with maintenance management systems, such as Maximo or SAP.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
