Job Summary
The OR RN Circulator plays a vital role in the operating room, responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position requires a keen focus on patient safety, effective teamwork, and ensuring a seamless surgical experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage patient care during surgical operations.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and sterile.
- Advocate for patient needs and rights throughout the surgical process.
- Document all aspects of the surgical procedure and patient response in compliance with hospital policies.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Previous experience in a surgical setting or as a Circulating Nurse preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
