Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients as needed, often on a per diem basis. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive respiratory therapy while ensuring patient comfort and safety through professional treatment methods.
Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Document patient responses to therapies and treatments accurately.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding respiratory care.
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and potentially other relevant credentials.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care practices and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
