Job Summary
The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will play a critical role within the ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team, providing essential support to individuals facing mental health or substance use challenges. This part-time position focuses on offering guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to enhance the recovery process, leveraging personal lived experiences to connect with clients on a deeper level.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in navigating their recovery journeys by sharing personal experiences and insights.
- Provide emotional support and motivational encouragement to individuals in need.
- Help clients set goals and develop personalized recovery plans.
- Facilitate group sessions and support meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with the ACT Team to ensure integrated care for clients.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation concerning client interactions and progress.
Qualifications
- A personal history of recovery from mental health or substance use issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Prior experience in peer support roles or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems.
