Job Summary
The Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. This position necessitates a compassionate and skilled individual who can efficiently manage a diverse range of patient needs and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment, intervention, and education, ensuring that every patient receives optimal care throughout their hospital stay.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to evaluate their health status and needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families about health management and post-discharge care.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care and progress in medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and progress.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a Med/Surg unit is strongly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills.
