Job Summary
The RN Level 4 Labor and Delivery position is designed for skilled nursing professionals who are adept in maternal care and childbirth solutions. This role is pivotal in providing specialized support and care to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of the laboring patient to identify needs and complications.
- Administer medications and interventions as per protocol to ensure fetal and maternal health.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to create individualized birth plans tailored to the patient’s needs.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process.
- Monitor the progress of labor and report any deviations to the attending physician.
- Assist in various delivery techniques, including vaginal births and C-sections, and manage post-operative care when necessary.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant experience in labor and delivery.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Knowledge about maternal-infant nursing practices and emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and their families.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
