Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. This role is essential for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and reliably, minimizing downtime and maximizing performance on work sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of heavy equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs or adjustments required for equipment.
  • Perform repairs on hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical components of equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and equipment operators to enhance the functionality of the machinery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
  • Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to operate heavy machinery is a plus.
