Job Summary
The Trauma Orthopedic-Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) specializes in providing care for patients experiencing severe musculoskeletal injuries and those admitted for medical and surgical interventions. This role combines clinical expertise in trauma and orthopedic procedures, ensuring that patients receive optimal care throughout their treatment journey. The RN will play a critical part in recovery by applying advanced nursing practices and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to trauma and orthopedic patients.
- Assess patient conditions, developing individualized care plans and treatment strategies.
- Monitor vital signs and respond to any changes in patient status effectively.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in training and development initiatives to stay updated with best practices in trauma and orthopedic nursing.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Experience in trauma, orthopedic, or medical-surgical nursing.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- BLS and ACLS certification as required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
