Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a highly skilled and compassionate individual who can quickly assess patient needs and prioritize care. The RN will be an integral part of the emergency response team, providing critical support during medical emergencies and coordinating treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patient conditions in the emergency setting.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients experiencing acute medical issues.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Monitor patient status and respond swiftly to changes in condition.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment and recovery plans.
- Document patient care and progress accurately in medical records.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and training.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Experience in an emergency department or similar high-acuity setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be preferred.
