Job Summary

The Trauma Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients suffering from traumatic injuries. Working in a fast-paced emergency department or trauma unit, the nurse is responsible for assessing and managing patients’ needs as they present with acute medical conditions resulting from accidents, falls, or violence. This position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and timely treatment for trauma patients.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and monitor patients’ conditions and vital signs in the trauma setting.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Assist in performing emergency procedures and interventions to stabilize patients.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery processes.
  • Document patient information accurately and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience in acute care or trauma nursing preferred.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
